97 concorde won't start

i 97 concorde and it won't start.

this is what happened. i started it a few days ago andit ran a few minutes thentherewasa kunk sound andthen it shut off. now allit doesis cranks w/o turnind over, radio still works, lights work. what ithinkit might be isthe timing belt could this be. i htinkthis causeifit was some thing intenal it would still turn toturn over right?
