Axle Problems
If only i knew more about transmissions & axles... but i dont so i need someones help who has had problems before or specializes in em. OK, i have a 92 mirage, its auto(bleh), and my cv boot is torn on the front passenger side and is starting to tear on the front driver side. when i make a turn at about 90degrees or more it will click furiously. Now ive heard stories that i might have to replace the entire axle or just the boot. I just want to know what the heck i should do... anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Axle Problems
Yeah, if it's already clicking, then you have to change the joint, at least, but the axle costs about the same, maybe even cheaper (less work to change). Have them check out both sides, see if the other boot is torn yet. The side that clicks has to be changed for sure. The other side, if it's torn, but not clicking, change the boot b4 it's too late.
good luck. |
