Some ZC questions.

I tried to search for ZC but it wouldn't let me. So, I wanna get a dohc ZC, will this bolt right in and onto my A6 auto tranny? If I needed something like a timing belt or distributor where could I get them? Could I go to advance auto and ask for a t-belt for a 95 si or something? thanks in advance.

And I dont know if this is on there but if you ever need a distributor you need to get one for an 88/89 integra.

Re: Some ZC questions.

Yeah its a d-series engine so it should bolt on to your a6 auto tranny. I dont know why you would do that because most dohc zc's, or at least the ones on ebay, usually come with a tranny. But it should bolt on fine!

Re: Some ZC questions.

Yeah but there are other places to get a ZC from and it could be cheaper that way, and even cheaper without getting a tranny.

Re: Some ZC questions.

http://www.thezcresource.com go there and read, read, then read some more. Most parts for the ZC are a mix of 88-89 Integra engine parts and D16A6 (88-91 SI's) except for the timing belt which is an 88 Prelude 2.0 SI dealy. Your auto tranny will bolt up, but why not swap the auto for a manual? Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Longblocks are available from hmotorsonline.com for ~$525. You also might want to consider a D16Z6 or D16Y8. I only say this because my ZC burns a little oil in one cylinder (probly from sitting in a junkyard for 10 years, I believe a ring is siezed, hoping I can free it with some ATF)...enough to fail inspection....but I havent had a chance to work on it because of the snow so it might be something simple. Oh, I love my ZC, oil burning and all.

Re: Some ZC questions.

I'm only getting a ZC because I need a new engine until I can afford a LS setup. I'm gonna stick with an auto because I've never heard any good things about an auto converted to a manual. It's also lazy lol. I dunno, I'm happy with my auto, it will redline and get me down the road. I can't find a good deal on a d16z6 or y8 complete swap. Hell I can't seem to find one at all. I looked for a while. Now I just say f*ck it and go with a zc for now. Oh well, thanks for the info.

ahhh a fellow lazy bastard ... dont listen to them manual punks ...

its more trouble then its worth and much more costly on your wallet then it should be to convert. just keep it auto and keep it cruzin!

my zc burns a little oil but yea thats cause it sat in a junkyard for like 10 years. you get your engine rebuilt, send the head to be remilled or what ever like i had in my last thread ... and you shouldnt burn any oil at all.

I have had no problems with my ZC at all. Go to www.nippon-motors.com , they have really good prices. Also for all ZC related questions go to http://dmoore.com/crx/zc.htm

Good luck on ya swap.

Re: Some ZC questions.

Yeah I heard it is a lot harder to go from auto to stick rather than stick to auto. I love my stick but I see where your coming from.
