Yee haw...

Well, today I was in Ricer Heaven (read: Hell).

Sighting 1: Ricer flyby - older civic with white wheels, a body kit, and an exhaust bigger than its tires. Thought about turnin off the cruise and schooling his rather slow ass but I didnt need to get caught again (1 year diversion so I dont have to pay a 200$+ ticket)

Sighting 2: Civic EX with a giant exhaust and a bigger VTEC badge

Sighting 3: Prelude with its tricked out "carbon fiber" (read: stock hood painted black) hood. Body kit, clear lights and a loud sound.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing cars that don't match up to my piece of crap in performance but scream "I'm faster than a ferrari". All I can say is - after my community service is done (which is friday) and my girlfriend gets in... I'm gonna spank the next punkass who ricer flyby's me. (With a nice big 99 Trans Am of course )

Re: Yee haw...

yea in cincinnati, where i live, the rice scene consists of more neons, with racing stripes, neon wiper-fluid-dispencers, and a coffee can under the bumber

what do u drive mediocrity?

94 MX-6 that was previously owned by a ricer... unfortunately. They put a tip on it that makes it sound faster than it is and probably constricts air flow.. considering taking it off. I ditched it once and it stripped some exhaust bolts off so I have to get it re-welded and it uggified my front end...

Overall it's a good car for daily driving..after about 187k miles it's still burning very little oil and gets decent gas mileage. and it handles well enough, and goes fast enough for a 4 banger without mods. The ricer beating it took is apparent though in that it gives hints about problems... sometimes it idles low and almost dies, pulls hard in the rain etc. And I get a nice popping noise if I turn going above 60... and it's always pulling to the right. I'd get it fixed if I wasn't a broke ass.

But this is all untill I can get my s13.

ricers usually don't fly by me or my friends becusae 1: i drive a turboed 240 which they can clearly tell from the guages, 2: i roll with a STi, a EVO8, a turbo MR2, and a S2000. so which means if they take me out, they have to deal with my faster friends such as the STi, and the evo 8. but i'm sure by the end of hte winter my car will make over 250whp. then i can beat the 2 fastest cars in my crew and be on top again.

i'm not sure i understand you. so your mx-6 is faster than v tec preludes and civics. is it the 2.0 4 banger or the 2.5 6 cylinder. or do you mean the trans am, or the 92 skyline listed in your bio, or the silvia you're planning on getting.

No, the Prelude wasnt a vtec, neither was the civic.

My girlfriends trans am could beat it.
92 R32 is my dream car.

I was pointing out the fact that they were fakes.

Re: Yee haw...

*sigh*

I'm clowning on ricers.

IE people who put coffee cans for exhaust, stock hoods painted black as "carbon fiber" and vtec badges on a car that doesn't have vtec.

Have you completely lost the purpose of me talking about the day? Because I think you have. I don't have GT-R stickers on my MX-6. It's banged up but I'm not making it out to be something it's not.

Re: Re: Yee haw...

i can sorta understand where you're coming from about super flashy rice mobiles but it doesn't sound like any of those kids did anything to offend or upset you. they didn't rev on you at a light, or cut you off, or overtake you at a lane merge. I don't want to get into a big ordeal or anything but it just sounds to me like you are just clowning on people who are going about their daily business. i'll bet one of those kids said "yo, i seen this beat up old mazda with an exhaust tip welded on it" and proceeded to make fun of you to his friends. How do you know they aren't hand-me-down rice cars like you said yours is.

with the easy modibility of honda's it's hard to pick rice from nice. my friend with the GN also has a 91 dx civic coupe with a muffler that looks like a bowling ball could squeeze inside. he has a 1995 1.8L V-tec integra engine in it and it's definitely fast. being ricey-ish is the best way to get raced. almost every day of his life he has to hand someone their ass cuz they think he's just another ricer. you shoulda been there when we beat a guy in his mustang. he wouldn't even look at us at the next light.

and so you know, ex civics do have v-tec

Re: Yee haw...

It doesn't really offend or upset me, I'm just tired of lookin' at em. It's their own thing to do but it's just so sickeningly common, overdone, and everyone does it the same way that it's hardly an originality issue anymore.
