Need a little help on my 92 Max
I just became a member of this forum cause I've become very desperate!! I will entertain just about any idea to fix my problem.
Well here it goes. I have a automatic 92 maxima and I am having hugh shifting problems. My tranny sent bad about 8 months ago and I had a brand spanking new tranny installed. I didn't have problems untill after the tranny went bad. When the engine is cold like in the mornings I have no problems. The car shifts properly and accelerates fine. But after it's warmed up it won't pickup. No matter how hard I get on the pedal it's very sluggish to get going. It won't even kick into overdrive when I put the pedal to the metal. The pedal feels like it has a govenor installed, there is feel to the pedal. I have tried everything to slove this problem. I have changed spark plugs, rotor, wires, distributor, pick up coil, pcv valve, fuel and air filter, and throttle position sensor. I've switched to good gas and higher octane but the problems gets less but it hasn't gone away. I had the TPS adjusted by Nissan and no alarms were found on the computer. If any one has a solution or an idea please let me know I am getting really frustrated. |

Hey,
I was browsing and I figured I'd register to see if I could help you. I have a similar problem and I've done a little research myself. It could be electrical, maybe even a ground. I also had a problem with the accelerator cable being a little loose or "slack". Try this link... http://www.mattblehm.com The guy who owns the site makes a higher quality ground kit that might resolve the issue. You could also look for more information on Maxima.org They have a section devoted to the 3rd gens and are very helpful. Hope this helps, Matt (not of BlemCo) |
