I cant get a Skyline, but will be doing the next best thing

A Silvia.

Looking to purchase a rb25det, for a 240SX?

If you can get your hands on a early S13 Silvia you would be greatly rewared. They came out in two flavours. The CA18DET which was an 1800 DOC turob and the SR20DET which is the rarer of the two.

The S13 is the lightest of the Silvia series.

We can't really get a true Silvia per-say, but we can modify to make one. I have seen the S13 weigh in at 2800lbs which from what I have read is about 400lbs lighter than the R32s. RB25 should bring that weight up a bit, but still slide in around 3000lbs, which still is pretty good.

Cool on the RB25. I hope it is the turbo model.

Here is a little insite on the RB25DET. The bore is the same as the RB26DETT. Which means you can use GTR pistions. From what I have recently found out, not 100% sure on this but will confirm it. That the GTR head (RB26DETT) will fit right no top of the RB25DET block. So if it is true and you wanted to all out you could twin turbo charge it as the intake and exhaust manifold will bolt right up from the GTR!

I know for sure that the RB26 head will fit right onto the RB30DE, but I haven't heard about the RB26 fitting on an RB25. It sounds a little strange as I've seen a number of GTS-25T's with an RB26 put into them, but never oversized (stock GTR) pistons put into the RB25....

Fancy that but true. One of our local tuning shops has done that very thing with the pistons in a few RB25DET's.

Hey Sky, RB25DETT Silvia - sounds damn good man...should be faster than a stock GTR owing to the weight. Looks awesome too. Sorry if I might sound like a salesman, but if you want my old pistons, cams or even the old escargots from my GTR, just mention it. I will send it to you and you can pay me after they are pumping up the horses in your Silvia! Good luck with the car and a very happy new year.
