85 suburban engine oil cooler leak HELP

I have an 85 Suburban c2500 with the 350. It has a factory engine oil cooler and the front radiator has developed a leak. Found out replacement cost is over $200 and can’t find anyone to fix it so decided to remove the oil cooling system as I don’t do any towing. I thought I could just take off the adapter above the oil filter and could then reinstall the oil filter normally but there is not a filter mounting plate there. Where can I get just a standard oil filter base plate to bolt up there in place of the cooling system base? I thought I could put plugs in the cooling lines on the original base, but I don’t think the oil would flow through the filter properly then. Am I wrong? Any help appreciated.

Re: 85 suburban engine oil cooler leak HELP

recently swapped a old 350 into my 86 and couldn't bolt in the oil cooler. so except for the cut lines I have a spare. the rad part is still on the suburbon but it'll probly come off pretty easy. let me know if your interested and I'll try to take it off. $20 + s/h it's yours.
