door opening mechanism

The front driver door will not open from the inside on my 97 burb. The outside handle works fine. I opened the panel on the bottom of the door and the rod attaching the interior handle is still conntected the opening latch. Any suggestions?

Re: door opening mechanism

Thanks, but I got the panel removed and discovered the interior metal handle was twisted/broken. I removed and replaced it. The unit Cost $25 from the dealer, not as bad as I thought. Thanks for the response

Crap. I had the same thing happen but was in a major hurry and had the dealer replace mine. $144 freakin' bucks.
