Re: Camaro RS Definition

Rally Sport, its basicly on newer camaros an interior package, has nothing to do with the engine.

Re: Camaro RS Definition

actually the RS has been around sence 1967 as the rally sport, back in the day it was the sport appearance package, rally wheels, hide away headlights, stripe package, and up level intereor. somewhere along the way it became the uplevel base camaro, one step above no options, but nothing really visual as far as i know, then for the fourth generation camaros it was a wheel options and ground effect package, with the RS badging and all. so basicly it used to be something cool, now its a badge kit.

Re: Camaro RS Definition

hey vettemaan, how is it that you have full stars, with only 359 posts and not being a mod????????

as far as the two being different, back in the day, the RS was its own model, like the Z28, you could basicly get four different camaros, the base camaro, the RS, the Z28, and the SS. they were very distinct, go to a websearch on 1969 camaros, and take a look, youll see for yourself. for the newer models, there is the base camaro, with RS all you get is an optional V8 and ground effects. Z28 is a different car all together, then with the SS all you get is cold air induction to my knowledge, so the model diferention is no where near what it was back in the day.

Actually, back in the day you could couple the RS package with another so you would have a RS/SS model. All the perfornamce gains of the SS with all the appearance options of the RS.

Re: Camaro RS Definition

thats what i meant...i think that the old (original) rs was a much better representation of the rally sport name than the newer ones. not knocking either just a personal opinion is all...

Re: Camaro RS Definition

couldt (4th gens) you mix some options too, like a LS1 RS Z28? Or, just a Z28 with a body kit (wouldnt that be the same thing though, -minus badges)
