Has anybody here done a Toyota Supra engine swap in their Tacoma (specifically the twin turbo engine)?? I figured this would make a truck a beast cus you would get the infinite horsepower possibilities of a Supra, with the high torque, low revving, and strong rear end of a Tacoma, but folks have been telling me it would make a hell of a lot of reliability problems...

It has been done, but into a 4runner of about '94 or '95 vintage. The main problem is the length of the block. With the inline 6 you get a block that is about 5 inches longer and this necessitates modifying the firewall and radiator mounts to gain clearance. But with the loads of mods available for the 3.4, one has to ask WHY? I could see getting over 300 horse/lb.ft easily with the 3.4 on pump gas.

Really? I thought the aftermarket for the Tacoma was below average... plus I've seen Supras get down into the mid 9s with only 4 or 5 bolt on parts and $5000 worth of work. Plus it would be tight as hell to have a 9 second truck, even thought that would take more modding cus the Tacoma's heavier...
