88-91 crx si motor is it good to build up?

I have a hatch with a body kit r rims already wit customized interior. SO the looks are done. I can afford a crs si motor that bout it and i am woundrin if they are strong motors built up? send me pics of just tell me bout it ight later.

any engine can put out decent horsepower if you build it correctly.

the d16a6 is a good platform to start with, like any other 1.6 honda block. with an I/H/E, which im guessing is what you mean by "built up" seeing as how you can only afford a d16a6, but plan on building it up, which would cost more than a b16 or even a d16z6/d16y8, the car might pull mid to high 15s in the 1/4

So with headers and other shit the highest i would be running with that motor is high 15's which aint bad for that motor.

on a perfect day, a d16a6 with I/H/E could run a 15.5 in a light car

oh i forgot to mention.. if you post on honda-tech.com then your stock d16a6 can run 15.2 and with I/H/E it would run a 14.1, but in the real world, yeah, 15s is somethign to shoot for

Makes sense to me... D16A with Intake/Exhaust = 15.7
B16A with exhaust = 15.0

Ya.. D16A appears to be the best motor to be building.

Today i just bought a ls motor. I said forget the crx si motor i got some extra money and now i have a ls motor goin into my hatch. i should be running stong now later.

I hope you bought the tranny, computer and all the mounting stuff cuz its alot more complicated than throwin in a D series engine
