T-Bird blow up

Hey guys . I got a friend who has a 1994 T-Bird and he installed a performance cam by comp cams . We installed it and checked our work. The next day we drove it around we felt alot more power we raced a Camaro and smoked them. After a day of fun we decided to ditch this stupid small town . Since we had some money . So we went for a drive doing about 105 down the highway and the car started smoking . We figured it was the power steering fluid leeking on to something . We went about another 5 miles and heard this clacking we heard we thought it was the fan hitting the fan shroud because it sometimes did that. We stopped to fill up with gas and popped the hood and heard the the engine knocking so we put a quart of oil in it and haded home We went about 7 more miles and he motor started knocking realy bad . Then it stopped by the time we got to the exit we couldnt of even see out the window that was how much smoke there was . And then we heard this whoosh and a pop WTF!!!!!the rod and part of the piston came off and the top tank on the radiator blew clean off . What in hell happened ?!?!!!!??? did we do something wrong ? Thanks!
