Talking Exhaust, Headers T304 Stainless Steal Question

Hi guys, would anyone know what the difference is between so many exhausts claiming "made from the best material" T304 Stainless Steal. I spoke to a local Exhaust shop and he told " they are all the same, it's the only muffler itself that's different". I don't know, that was one person telling me. He claimed that most T304 Piping is built in the same factories and they just are distributed to different companies, who they themselves test and put their name on the exhaust and is why they jack up the price. For example Greddy and Apexi's stainless steal is the same quality tubing but just mufflers are different, the both test their products their own way and tag their name on them. He told the same is for Headers... anyone out there heard about this? Any truth to this? Thanks

Re: Exhaust, Headers T304 Stainless Steal Question

Yeah that is true to a point. The pipe is usually made by one or two companies and then the exhaust companies buy the pipe from them, but they also bend it themselves and put flanges etc on it. So they are not equal kits but more like equal pipe. And not all companies use the same pipe , some say T304 SS but that is only the muffler, you have to make sure you are getting the full T304 SS piping and muffler, and good flanges too, it can be very agrivating to install a catback that has the flanges welded on wrong or the pipe is too short etc.
