Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

FYI: the Samba Green came only on the '93 Si and '94 Si. ABS came out only on the model up from the Si (the VTEC) in '95. Good luck!

Re: Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

Hi,

I know the Samba is only in the 93 and 94 models, but just in case someone has a custom painted 95 Del Sol in that color.

The reason you stated below about the ABS is why I made it optional. If there's a 95 Samba Del Sol with ABS that's great, but a 94 Samba that doesn't have ABS is fine too.

Re: Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

Thanks!

Yes, I've always wanted the Samba one. I had a 95 Del Sol S version (teal color) for 5 years, but it was totaled when a *big* pickup hit it. That was a little over a month ago and I just really miss the car. :| The car would be just to enjoy and use for driving here and there. My mom and dad really enjoy the car too so I have to share it. (Payback time for all the times they toted me around right?)

Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

if you're looking for an aftermarket paint job, then why not just get any del Sol and get the paint done yourself? That way you know what shop it went to, etc.

Re: Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

Hi,

I thought paint jobs were extremely expensive. I rather have a car that already has the Samba paint in the first place-94 preferred- but if there was one in 95 and I see that it was done well I would consider that too ever the risks of the blemishing problem listed below might occur.

I really don't want to get any color and have it changed since the risks are high that:
-a good job is not done and all the money put into that would go down the drain
-as the car gets older there might be "blemishes" where you can see the original paint show through.

I understand where you're coming from though, but I rather get a car in the color I like in the first place and not fuss with the paint.

Greets,

Try looking on www.autotrader.com. I found mine there, although I had to drive two states away to get it. You will probably have better luck finding your car though since you want an automatic and most people usually look for a manual. Not sure how many Samba Sol's came in automatic though - can't say I've ever seen one.

ABS was standard only on the VTEC model, but also came on some Si models as an option I believe, even in '93 and '94. Also, all Si models came as a SOHC VTEC from the factory.

Best of luck to you in finding your car.

Re: WTD: Honda Del Sol

Hi,

I've been watching autotrader which seems like a great site for tracking down cars.

I've seen 4 Samba automatic cars so far so they're out there.

Re: The del Sol Classifieds Thread

Hi,

I'm looking for a Honda Del Sol with the following specs:

-94 or 95 if available with the Samba Green color ONLY
-SI VTEC
-ABS (optional-not sue how common these were since I rarely see them listed with ABS)
-less than 100K mileage
-automatic
-radio/cassette/CD
-A/C
-private sellers need to be within 250 miles of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, Iowa and dealers can be anywhere nationwide.

If you or someone you know has a Del Sol with these specs that is for sale and in the area specified LMK! Also interested in dealers in your area that have this particular car too.

Thanks for any help,
Marlies

Re: The del Sol Classifieds Thread

Hi, I make custom shift & E-brake boots designed just for the del sol (OEM replacement). I can get quite a few different colors (some colors below), but I just stocked up on Carbon Fiber Vinyl (pics below). The price for these are $40 the color boot sets, and $45 for the Carbon sets. If at all interested please E-mail me at [email protected], thank you for your time, see ya, Adam

I'm looking for both Headlights, Cruise control set up (questions about this), the ashtray/lid and that trunk peice that is removable, its card board and cloth, it covers up the spare tire. If anyone has any info on these parts please e-mail me.
