help! altima factory alarm
i have a '98 altima se with an alarm that goes off randomly. at this point you can't even purposely set the alarm off! it's totally useless. the dealerships don't seem to have a clue how to fix it or even to disable it. my preference is to disable it and to use the key to lock and unlock as necessary. any ideas how to disable?

Re: help! altima factory alarm
I have the same problem with my Altima. For no apparent reason the alarm starts to go off. I have noticed thou, that it only happens when I lock the car, and the "security" light on the instrument panel remains steady on. I think it's a bad lock sensor. Too bad it cant be simpler since there's 6 sensors that I need to check. doors-4, trunk, and hood. Im shooting for either the hood or the trunk, since everything with the safety belt system works as advertized. Ill post my findings soon. GL

crazy altima door locks...help please
My 98 altima does the same thing. What I found was by taping the drivers side door senor I could then lock the car and the alarm would no longer go randomly. Lately however the car unlocks itself and then locks and unlocks randomly. Pretty much my car can never be locked for an extended period of time b/c the locks will go crazy and eventually end up being unlocked...I have no idea what could be causing this, the alarm does not set and has only set off and on since this started happening 2 weeks ago. Any ideas of what I can do?

Re: help! altima factory alarm
The same thing is happening to my girlfriends '99 Altima. All of a sudden the alarm goes off for no reason. I searched on the internet and people just disconnected the fuse for the alarm.
Did anyone successfully resolve this problem ? Or can anyone tell me where to find the fuse to disconnect the alarm? |
