gsr wheel bearings

ok got a simple question theres a humming noise coming from the front wheels. First I thought it was tire noise but my friend with the same exact car (98 four door gsr) and tires (azenis) has no noise problem. So I figured it was the wheel bearings because on both wheels the inside tread wore down all the way to bald. I got a 4 wheel alignment when I got the tires and I only have stock suspension. I checked the wheels off the ground for any play ( wiggled from top to bottom to see if there was play). I also left wheels spinning in 1st gear and really didnt hear no noise except for a little noise from the rotor touching. please help

Hey i got a 94 Gsr i had a problem with the humming noise but it was not the front bearing it was the rear passenger side. The Noise tends to echo. What i did was have someone seat in the back and till if he heard it louder back there. If it is the rear then replacing it will be very simple.I did mine my self and took me only a 1hr it that was because the screws hold the rotor in place were old and worn and had to drill them out.Other then that it very simple putting it on. Just just get a manual and you can do it your self. i paid 115 for the Hub assembly that is if is your rear bearing. If you take it to Pep boys or somewhere else they going to charge you like 220 or more to do the work.

I think I have the exact same sound, (from rear-passenger side). Does it almost sound like a pickup truck with off road tires, it gets louder as you speed up? Kind of like a humming/droning noise, I noticed it after I bumped a curb in the snow, maybe it knocked a bolt loose? Its driving me nuts though. Im getting my tires aligned soon and then maybe it'll quit. Hopefully..

Dont waste your money it wont fix it. Yes that is the sound just gets louder the faster you drive. Just get the wheel hub assembly and you will get rid of the sound.Very simple fix.
