Unhappy Help! '90 BMW 525i, ignition problems

The BMW dealer can not diagnose the "ignition problem"...worse, they charged $80 for the privilege of not diagnosing the problem. My mechanic tried several fixes, but the problem is still there.
The Problem: After I park the car--anywhere, post-office, shopping malls, etc.--I come back 15-20 minutes later, the car would not start. The engine will crank but not turn over. Only after I keep cranking it for several seconds and step on the gas pedal would the engine turn over. My mechanic replaced the fuel pump. But the problem persists. Any assistance, suggestions and possible explanations would greatly be appreciated!

Re: Help! '90 BMW 525i, ignition problems

When the car faais to start you should narrow the problem to ignition or fuel. with help you can pull the coil wire and try starting if spark produces then probably not ignition. disconnect fuel line try starting ch for fuel presure.

good luck

ITs the Idle control valve

I went to the dealership and they said its the idle control valve. Put me down 300 bucks, but the problems gone.
