Turbo'd D16Z6 finally going in YEA me

Finally after all the BS that this motor has provided it is built and ready for the transplant. Motor is port and polished (not alot of porting), forged pistons, crank, flywheel and rods balanced, 3 angle grind on the new steel sodium filled valves, and the motor was sleved and board out .020" cause the pistons where odered before we decied to re-sleve.

These are some picks of todays event. The bay is bare now reay for the wiring to be done. Oh ya the Greddy turbo should be here by march 12th. I wanted the new style that has the new computer that allows you to change the fuel map with a PC.

new motor D16Z6

other side of motor

old motor

Lots of water cooled VWs (maybe aircooled too?) have sodium filled valves, I know my friends 8V GTI did.
