A positron is an anti-electron (positively charged electron). They are used quite often in colliders.

Smack your friend over the head and tell him we do not make transmission out of antimatter for obvious reasons.

The transmission he was most likely referring too was the tiptronic transmission as called by Porsche which is just an auto transmission that with manually controlled shift points.

It wasnt on AF, but it was on the forums for a new MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game) and he used a car analogy with so many false comments I had to thrash him... I will now quote every wrong thing he said...

It's kind of like having a stick shift positroic transmission car with all wheel drive. Great for off-roading as well as commuting to work on the highway, as well as driving in the city. Instead of having 1 off road vehicle. 1 vehicle with an automatic transmission for pure city driving. 1 vehicle with stick shift for highway driving (gets the most millage over automatics.)

As we've already discussed... positronic transmissions dont exist. Commuting to work and driving in the city? I was under the impression that AWD was a hassle compared to others (rwd, fwd) to drive in a city setting... I could be wrong though. That and AWD eats gas like nothin (or so I thought)

BTW, AWD is not only for rally (off road), and just bad weather. Though it is the best choice for that.
AWD has been successfully proven to dominate 2 WD (RWD and FWD) in the sports car market.

In Japan they have it in FWD. It is illegal to import it, or drive it, anywhere else in the world. The thing out accelerates all contenders. It's too darn quick. People still import them and drive them in other countries, but it's very, very, rare. In the USA one is more likely to see one (at a red light heheh.) in Florida.
There are also FWD sedans that take advantage of being FWD by having all four wheels steer the car at the same time, especially on turns.
Mercedes and Jaguar are two of the most well known names to have it.
Some japanse cars have it too.

A Toyota Celica GTSX with AWD, and a 3.8 L engine will out accelerate a Mustang with 2WD, and a 5.0 L engine, a Corvette, a Mitsubishi 3000, a Fararri, Lambourghini, and a Lotus. And leave them in the dust before it can shift into 2nd gear.
(Of course much later on they will catch up after the Celica reaches top speed and can't go any faster.)
No matter if both are stick shift, automatic, or positronic transmissions.

If AWD was proven to dominate in the sports car market... then why are there still RWD and FWD sports cars? You'd think the car companies would catch on if this was a "proven fact". AWD's been proven to dominate in the Rally car dept... RWD in track... with FWD being for those who like it.

The kid interchanges AWD and FWD like it's the same thing, and like we've said...Celica GTSX doesn't exist.. and it certainly wouldn't exist with a 3.8l engine... I won't even mention the fact that he forgets a 3kgt is a piggy ass car and a Lotus is used for touring, not dragging

Nissan was Datsun. Datsun got all it's technology from the Toyota Carona. Then Datsun drifted more towards sports car market. Toyota stayed more with the family/sedan market.
"Major motion from Datsun!" used to be the popular TV ads for Datsun.
Datsun then later changed its name to Nissan.

You might like Nissan better than Toyota, but Toyota is far, far, far, far, more successfull. Toyota Camery, Toyota Celica have all been best sellers. Nissan's best seller has been the Maxima. Good car, but it has never outsold the Camery.

The AWD or 4 WD Toyota Celica GTSX is a production sports car that can out accelerate a Ninja motorcycle. I am not taking about drag racers here. You don't see the idea behind it mass marketed for the same reason the superior Wankel Rotery Engine is not mass marketed. Lazy companies. Companies would rather get by with cheaper products and not push the envelope.

It is illegal to import this car, for the same reason the 454 is has been illegal to be further produced in the USA for over 20+ years.

- It would force other car makers to stop dragging their feet if more customers had access to such a superior sports car.

Heck, the Wankle technology is over 50 years old. All the success Mazda had SHOULD have been in the USA with any American car maker. Since the Americans confiscated German research and technology LOL.

According to Mr. Reality, the Celica line is one of the best selling Sports car lines.
Also there are different model Celicas. From "wimpiest" to highest - the ST, GT, GTS, and super-rare GTSX.

The newst model Celica (with the futuristic look designed by a California company) with it's 6 speed manual transmission blows away the MR-2. It is also on par with the now ancient Supra.

I don't see people tuning Celicas to about 1000+ HP.

Next drive down to any Mercedes dealer. (Mercedes has the best, most well known, most well tested Positronic transmissions). And ask them about their Positronic Transmissions.

And the Camry blows away the Corolla. It is far larger, has more options, and is more powerful. The Camry is actually a lesser Celica! Almost the exact same engine!

I fully agree the Nissan Skyline is a nice car. But it is a pure sports car. It serves 1 market. It likely comes in either stick shift or automatic. It very likely does not come in 4WD.

1. 454's that were made before the US goverment passed a law making it illegal to make MORE of them, ARE legal to drive.

Just like all cars made with wrap around tinted windows from the factory(Driver's side as well as windshield) are legal and one will win in court if a cop gives a ticket for them.

2. The 454 engine comes with a car not by itself LOL. One of the most famous production cars ever made.
It is illegal to make MORE 454 engines, or MORE 454 cars.

3. A stock 454 engine that then gets modified for a few hundred bucks (by simply boring the cylinders) would destroy the most tricked up Skyline which needs thousands of bucks to be even more modified even more.

First off... The Corolla and the Nova aren't the exact same car? Know why? Different makers. They may use the same base engine (which I'm not sure if they do or not) but it's not the same car... you said it yourself kid theres a Corolla and then theres a Nova.
