Unhappy 94 Ford Taurus Wagon will not turn engine over

We have been having problems with it starting before. We put the key in and it won't turn over. All the lights go on the fuel pump goes on but it won't turn over. The past few days we would start it shut everything off and turn the key again and then it would start now it won't.

My husband has looked at it, has put a battery tester, battery charger,it isn't the battery ( i wish it was that). Could it be in the steering column itself.

Please Help !!!
Thank you !!!!

I would say that you need a new starter. Does it make any noises, like it is trying to crank, or any clicking when you turn the key?

If it makes noises, it could either be the starter, the starter solenoid or the battery. Try jump starting it. If that works, you probably should get a new battery. If jump starting doesn't work, take it to a shop to get the starter replaced.

Hope this helps
