Re: Horn Location 96 cavalier

I need to change mine also after submerging my cavie to a point where water was making waves on my hood at a miss-calculated flooded street. It did not stall thanks to the short ram intake but horn barely makes noise now. Ignition is fine. Im guessing that it is inside the bumper.

Re: Horn Location 96 cavalier

KustmAce - Thanks for checking. When I find it, I'll post it here. I'm thinking it must be behind the bumper near the rad support. I have to remove the under-body plastic shields to have a look.

WhiteCavaliac - check back because sooner or later I'll find it.

Re: Horn Location 96 cavalier

the horn should be located inside the bumper cover
if i remember its on the right side, you need to pull down the splash shied to get to it

Cool Here's ur horn

Hey wut's goin on
I just signed up for those forums...
pretty interesting...

anyhow,
here's a fresh reply to what u need, coz I changed the horn on my 1996 cavalier just a couple of weeks ago...

if you're standing in front of the car, it will be on the left side (passenger side) behind the bumper,
it's not easy to reach,
u got one of two ways i guess,
what I did was that I disassembled the passenger side headlight screws, and that's when I was able to see and reach the horn by looking throught the space left out by the taken-out headlight
the other way I guess, which I didn't try, was the one that the guy before me mentioned, which is to take out the splash shield or something,
anyhow ,
good luck on it,
if u need anything else, feel free to give me a shout
OJ

Re: Horn Location 96 cavalier

Found it - thanks for the help.

I removed the splash shield in front of the passenger tire and behind/under the bumper and there it was.

It is an easy job if you know where to look.
