new clutch

hi every body, heres my problem.............Last night i was driving around with my freind in my new 92 talon tsi. this guy in a BMW Z4 pulled up next to us at this light so i reved my engine. i didnt think he was going to go so i didnt launch and the next thing i know he is going so i hit it and shift to second(first time i ever tried to actually shift)and it just sits at 6,000 RPM so i let off and hit it again and pulled away . any way i need a new clutch. i heard that performance clutches are not good in 1G talons. is this true cause i really want to put a good clutch in it. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i really have no clue where you heard that aftermarket clutches are bad for dsms. you WANT a stronger clutch so u can launch and grab gears more easily. look into an ACT 2100 or 2600 or possibly a Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch. alot of shops offer packages which include the ACT clutch and a Fidanza light weight flywheel. try www.taboospeedshop.com.

Re: new clutch

thank you for replying, and thats what i was thinking. thanks for the website. heres another question. i just want a performance, not the whole cat-back or turbo back. do you/anybody know if apex'i sells just a muffler, no piping, or for that matter any companies that sell a good looking performance muffler. the reason i ask is cause i will do piping my self. again thank you for your input.

yes, apex'i does manufacture an N1 muffler. if that doesnt suit your needs look into a magnaflow or something similar.
