95 Ford Taurus wipers won't turn off.
I have a 95 Ford Taurus SE with 120K miles and all of the suden the wipers won't turn off. They tend to wip the wind shield about every 20-30 seconds.
Now usually this problem had been caused by ice restricting the wiper from retreating fully, but that is not the case. So I am a bit puzzled. Detailed: This car is left on the driveway, so when I started it on Friday morning when it was -10 out it made they worst sound. That morning on the drive to work I noticed the speedo would be unreadable whenever I hit a bump. The spedometer has already been replaced once, so if this one goes bad there is a definite design flaw. That afternoon I went out for lunch speedo acted up a little over bumps, but other than that no problems. Later when I drove home from work the wind shield wipers just came on after I had been in Chicago traffic for 15 minutes. Other known issues with my wipers are that left sprayer doesn't work and currently I don't have any wiper fluid in the resoviour. I am contemplating removing the fuse for the wiper system to fix this. Except that it is supposed to snow Monday. (Fuse/CB/Relay Location: 2) Thanks for you help. |

Wipers
It sounds like your multi-function switch needs to be replaced. Mine needs replacing and it's $75.00 from a wrecker. That's in Canada where auto parts are more than in America. When you turn them off, try doing it multible times. Mine sometimes stay on but will go off if I do that.
Jeff.
