Need help!!

Ok, heres what my situation is...
I have a 94 S....
Buddy of mine wants to race my sol with his focus zx3. the other buddy wwants to put his 93 mr2 (base) against my sol.
(FOR ALL WHO DONT LIKE STREET RACES..... ITS ON THE TRACK!!!! )
ANYHOO,i have the S and I know i will lose on a normal race...
All I have is an intake (DIY)... Is there any way i can win against these guys....they know how to drive, but i think im more experienced and just plain better....but i definately lack in the power area.....
I was thinkin some small things i could do to help was:
less than 1/4 tank gas
bypass IAT sensor
remove any unnecessary stuff....out of back bins and trunk
93 octane fuel with octane booster....

... that's it.
I know i sound pathetic im sure, but i just wanna beat them... I know my sol is slow, i can beat a auto conv stang and some other cars, i just feel like those cars will beat me... am i wrong, can i beat a zx3?

BASICALLY if anyone knows of some easy, relatively cheap, quick fixes i can do to make my car faster please let me know!!! PLEASE!!! any little bit helps

cheap, quick fix? Find a DOHC VTEC model and borrow it. In an S model, you have shit for power. Almost empty gas tank will help. removing interior won't. Not enough of a weight difference to see anything. Fuel + booster might help... Let the air outta your tires (down to like 20 psi I believe.. been a while since I was at the track), and PRAY.

ZX3 should be close... MR2 will spank you. RWD always has the advantage in the quickness area.

I think you'd take the ZX3. Ford Focus is a slow car (and ugly). I'm with Emily on the MR-2 though - you probably won't be able to win over the MR-2 without some heavy mods unless it was the really old style MR-2 (years '84 -'88). Any MR-2 model past '88 would give the VTEC Del Sol a good run.

Don't forget to remove your spare tire.
