Just to throw an idea out because you would have to go autmoatic if you went that way (CRV tranny)
I used to have a 1988 Ford Escort GT, then i blew the clutch in it and it has 190k on her. I should of did this but I didnt, I also had a 1990 SHO with the body rotting off. What I was going to do (Yeah Im a hack) was cut a huge hole in the back of the escort and then cut off the front clip of the SHO. I was going to them cut out everything but pretty much the shock towers, cradle, engine, tranny... ect.. then take that whole assembably and weld it in to the esort (put the engine and stuff in from undernieth) I was going to mount the SHO gas tank in the front and take the SHO dash and wiring harness and mount it in the escort (cut it if need be) but then everything would be there and it should start right up, you would have to build a firewall over the engine but damn it would be a mid engined RWD car. obviously what I was going to do would of been the very hacked way and probably would keep breaking shit, but if you think about it it is very easy if you have a toruch and a welder, if your good at fabricating you could make it look nice besides who needs a back seat? Oh yea if your wondering why I didnt do it is because I wanted to find a automatic SHO because they have 3.2's and would be much easier to make linkage for an auto tranny then a rod shift manual shift tranny, of course the more i think about it as long as ground clarance isnt that much of an issue it would be fairly simple to make that. Well anyways I think that would be more interesting but you have to be a good fabriacater because you wouldnt want to ruin a good civic, but hell while your at it make it twin engined ![]() If you do use CRV running gear you might as well make it AWD, it wouldnt take to much more work. there was an artical in some magazine i read about a while ago lol anyways good luck Kyle

Re: 98 civic rear wheel drive
If I were to do something like that, I would use S2k drivetrain or NSX & have the engine in the back.

If you used like a S2k drivetrain I bet you would run into lots of problems such as the tranny hitting the steering rack and stuff like that. NSX engine in the back would be fun you can do anything you want as long as you have money
