goto www.cartalk.com/Mail/BBS and look for the forums, look for a user who signs on as 'drzzt dourden' - I think he has made the switch to run on 'greasel' as they call it.

Re: diesels on vegetable oil

Before considering Bio-Diesel eg treated vegetable oil you may want to consider that:

- It's less clean burning ie it stinks like a greasy spoon, smokes and is plain nasty on the environment
- Renders your warranty null and void and may have maintenance issues (particularly inconsistency of fuel and injector issues)
- Depending on your tax jurisdiction, you may still have to pay road taxes/excise duty lest you receive a nasty bill for the mileage and/or fines

Biodiesel usually is cleaner burning than petroleum-based diesel.

Re: diesels on vegetable oil

Granted 454 - depending on the source of the bio-diesel. I've seen folk who collect the rancid contents of deep fat fryers and convert them to bio-diesel. And I'm not kidding about smelling like a greasy spoon it's just plain nasty when it goes past (like a burger bar fire)...
