Astro 92 dead battery vs fuel pump

Dead battery replaced. Unidentified short drained battery again. When jumpstarted, engine raced like too much fuel received. Turned engine off. Would not restart. Dropped fuel tank and replaced fuel pump. Pump still not pushing fuel. Manuel doesn't identify any fuse. Is there a relay or ground to check? If so, where? Appreciate the help!

Do you have power to the pump?
Fuel pump relay is on the firewall.
Does it have power?
Check your fuel pressure at the manifold.

Use a test light for the pump and the relay. Mine only turns on for about two seconds and then you have to leave the ignition off for ten and then do it again to check further. I had to have help. Anyway I pierced the wire with the sharp point of the test light and got power on the fuel pump wire and then I probed across the fuel pump relay and got power. So I knew the pump was bad. The first place I would check though is the fuel pump wires. If you get a two second or so light up of your light than you know the fuel pump relay is working. If your light does not go off or does not come on, the relay may be your problem. Other than that I would use the test light to locate any souce of power drain that should not be there when the ignition is in the off position. Good Luck.
