Short Throw comparison?

Ok, for my 240sx Im lookin for the most efficent Short Throw Shifter for the price...
so far ive found
B&M for $300
Nismo for $200
OBX for $50
and cheap generic brands...

Doe anyone have any experience with any of these?
Are they all the same? or do some perform better than others?
and are some so cheap that they break? (so ive been told)

Any info is apricated: thanks, Jon

Re: Re: Short Throw comparison?

Get a torch or flame thrower and heat the center of the shifter. The shifter is actually two pieces of metal connected together wid a rubber layer in the middle. When the rubber melts off you will have a shorter shifter. Re-install the shifter back after some rubber cleanup. Throw a knob on it. It shortens it about 3.5 -4"

hahah that looks like a choda. ( small stubby dick ) lolz anyways i've had 2 short shifters. i had a OBX which broke. i shifted to hard and the thing broke into two pieces. like how stealthj mentioned earlier. its actually a 2 piece thing. the OBX is decent. it had short throws but it didnt' shorten it that much. however it made the gates feel more positive. then i drive the NISMO one that my friend had. the gates felt alittle better then the OBX, however the shifting action was not as short as the OBX one. then finally i bought the B & M one. it was by far the most positive, more shortest, more solid shifter for the 240 period. the B & M even made the NISMO one feel vague by comparison

lol. stealthj, i think he means shorten the THROWS, not the actual length of the shifter itself...btw, what car is that on? the e-brake is Nissan for sure...but i don't recognize anything else.

i would hate to shift with something that low down...

i personally haven't driven any of the above mentioned, but the only shifter out of those three that i've heard good things about was the B&N. many people have told me that it's the best shifter for the money and thus i plan to get one in the future.

and hey, you get what you pay for right? so therefore a $300 B&N would be alot better then a $50 OBX...

Had a B&M in my s14 for about 6 months. VERY stiff, slotty, very little play. It had great feel and it was short, but at high rpm it would ratte, almost to the point where u couldnt hear the engine. However, I imagine that a problem like that could be solved with some clever rubber-compound application.

they have solved that problem now, so says the B&M sales reps at a car show. If thats not a 240sx then its probably a 200sx. the contours and styling look similar in both cars..(S14 and B14/13?)
