Moniters in fiberglass
I was designing a trunk lid and planed on installing monitors mounted in fiberglass but wasn’t sure on how to do it. Anyone help?

well, just measure(depth height and width), make some brackets out of some abs, and mount it in there. if you are skilled enough to make a "trunk lid", this shouldnt be to hard.

Re: Moniters in fiberglass
but how keep the moniters in? screw them or make the space tight so they dont slide out or an other way?

I would definitely find a way to screw them in because of the vibration in the trunk ... I am assuming you will have sub(s) in the trunk

yeah, DO NOT rely on pressure alone to keep them in. they should have some kind of mounting options, just get some 1/8" abs, create some kind of mounting brackets, and then screw stuff in.

Re: Moniters in fiberglass
how do you want the fiberglass? I know a lot of installers make the fiberglass to fit the monitor with a cutout, and they make a 1/4" ridge about 2 inch past the egde of the monitors to mount the fiberglass with 4-8 stainless screws into the fiberglass (the fewer the better it will look).
