What's going on with Lamborghini??

When the 350GT, Miura, Countach, and Diablo were all introduced, they were (or very close to it) the fastest production cars at the time, that LM002 monster was surely the fastest production four wheel drive vehicle on the planet and probably still is. the Diablo didn't last long as the fastest production car, but has huge respect from everyone because of that style and the thing is so intimidating. The Murcielago is very nice and set some world records for maintaining the fastest speed over a huge distance, for at least an hour, however it does not even compare with the McLaren F1 or the Enzo or the Koenigsegg or the Pagani or even the intentions of the great man Ferruccio. However the Murcielago as far as I know is the fastest production car with respectable numbers sold, not produced in overly limited numbers, and not a race car.

The supposed new model supposedly being introduced in March this year at the Geneva Motor Show is hopefully something really special, something that Lamborghini can use to claim back its past glory of creating the most outrageous performance vehicles available. The Murcielago has the style for at least 1000hp (well perhaps 800) and continuing the single flagship bloodline that extends from the 350GT Miura, Countach and Diablo and Murcielago is important. If Lamborghini introduce an all new model, i hope its a further development of the LM002, but with marine engines as power plants, or a hugely powerful Murcielago model.

As for a new lightweight powerful model faster than the Murcielago, well I personally hope it is a 2.4m meter wide monster, larger than the Murcielago, weighing in at over 1600kg, with styling more Devil like than the Diablo, with better performance on paper and reality than anything in production or prototype form, and called the Lamborghini Matador.

Anyway even with Lamborghini perhaps getting a little soft over the last 10 years, I'd have a smashed Diablo with blown engine and drivetrain over any other brand of car the world has to offer.
