Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
To succeed in politics, its often necessary to rise above your principles. Nature always sides with the hidden flaw. If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it’ll happen then. Success always occurs in private, and failures in full view. Nothing is as easy as it looks. Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first. If at first you don’t succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried. Every solution breeds new problems. Its impossible to make thing foolproof because the fools are so ingenious. Trust everybody….. then cut the cards. If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. Two wrongs are only the beginning.
