I was wondering if anyone had any good modifications for their 240. I own a 93 240sx se model, and am planning on installing a new intake... Are there any other minimal mods i can do to slightly improve performance? and how much would it cost? Any replies would be appreciated.

Check nopi.com

Doing a cat-back exhaust, or simply replacing parts of your current exhaust will help. You can buy a header, bigger pipes, a higher flowing cat, and a better muffler. Nopi offers two pacesetter headers. One costs more, and is simply ceramic coated. Don't buy this. Buy the cheap one and wrap it in thermal wrap. You'll save some $$$ with the same effect as the ceramic coating.

There are plenty of other easy modifications. Lightened flywheel and pulleys, for one. Changing your ignition can be surprisingly helpful. New ditributer, rotor, and cap. These are also offered at nopi.

Replacing your cam(s?) will help too. Unfortunately, they will simply "transfer" performance. You can better your acceleration, but with a slight top-speed decrease. I don't think nopi has these, though.

Are you interested in bettering suspension, as well?

Braking! You can totally do this yourself. Should be relatively cheap too. All you need are the parts, and none of them should cost much.

Dennis, who just joined has an NSX, silver and black. I don't think he will modify it though. I want to modify my Rio.

Why not modify it? He should get some of the AZ parts and contact Comptech...I repeat...contact Comptech.

Does anyone know if there is any way to retrofit new 3-point seatbelts into the S13 hatchback body? Yes, those 'mouse-belts' were popular then, but they are ANNOYING now.

I've put S14 seat belts into my S13.

If you want to do it, be prepared to lose the panels by the back seat.

Best way is to get S13 seat belts out of a CDM model S13, and also purchase the accompanying rear interior trim pieces.

The S14 seat belts bolt straight into the S13, in part due to the two cars having the same thread pitch on the seat belt bolts. Be sure to use loctite so that the bolts can not come lose.

ok, my girlfriend has a 240SX 92 i know nothing about them, i drive american cars =) but im willing to take the time to make sure theres just one less stock car on the road...plus i love her =) ok she wants her car to go faster, i heard you guys talking about replacing panels and shxt to reduce weight, trust me, your cars dont need to lose weight, or atleast it shouldnt be a high priority, about a 100pounds knock off .01 or .1 seconds offa 1/4mile. im not so familiar with the engine set up either, could you put an open element in there? and also exhaust, theres some pacesetter turbo whatever monza thing for about 150, and some pace headers for 150, you can also get a exhaust dump for a V4 for like 60$$ at exhaustcutouts.com might be 50$ im not sure, but it gives a nice gain. well heres what im planning on aproaching her with, tell me what you guys think.
cat back exhaust,
heads
improved air intake, manifold a maybe,
maybe change the cams
not going to tell her to get an exhaust dump, a 240sx should never sound louder than a camaro....lol...well ok, could someone tell me what they think, and what companies supply this stuff? any help is appreciated, i only know where to get stuff for GMs thanks

As far as weight savings go, lightening of the powertrain would be quite helpful (albeit expensive) allowing quicker response. I knew a guy with a 240 with only aftermarket intake, headers and cat-back exhaust and it made a decent seat-of-your-pants improvement, unlike some Hondas where the cheap bolt-ons make little difference.

ok, to the drivetrain is understandable, but paneling, carpeting consoles, that stuff should stay in unless its a strip only car.

Yeah, no kidding. People should leave in the interior panels especially. The vinyl, plastic, etc. is designed to aid in safety; you wouldn't want to get skinned by an exposed sharp metal edge.
