Talking Exhaust question for GSR

What's up peeps! New to the forum, I hope any of you could give me some suggestions. I have a 98 GSR that I just purchased. All stock. I'm looking for a good Cat Back exhaust to start of with, a local shop sells a 2.5 inch stainless steal system (no name - generic) for $250.00 installed. The owner has a good rep, he currently has 4 shops in Mass. According to the shop it is a High Performance exhaust. I'm looking into the Greddy Evo 2, Apexi N1, Thermal or Skunk2. I'm just looking for a good high performance exhaust that will let me get out as much horsepower as possible with my future mods (except a turbo), I want it to be deep but too loud until the vtec kicks in. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone...

Re: Exhaust question for GSR

i would recommend either the greddy or skunk2. i have an evolution and i love it. it's not as deep as my friend's hks super dragger but it's more mellow. and skunk2's sound awesome.

hmmm... for that much you might as well pay more and get a nice one. You can find legit deals on ebay, and installation can be done for a reasonable price if you look around.

I don't know much bout the performance on them but I think the Apexi cat back exhaust sounds awesome! Not sure on the price either, but they sound nice, and they'll give u the performance that your looking for.

I was thinking of doing it myself as well, I have messed around with cars here and there and did do a bolt on for an older civic I had once, so going with a good name exhaust, anyone have their favorite. Nice deep sound I'm looking for, but performance is what I care about most. Greddy Evo II, Thermal, Apexi N1??? I just purchased the Injen CAI, Sparcko Plugs, DC sports Stainless Steal Headers 4 in 1. After my exhaust I'll be looking for a suspension,TEIN basics... or the HR Cup kit...

Cool exhaust set up

Enrique I got a 2001 GSR and I put a tanabe racing medalion exhaust on my car, it is pretty loud but i guess it depends on how loud you want your exhaust but i am completly happy with tanabe.
