A new "old" photo of F1 #007 and another...

It still amazes me that I can find new McLaren stuff on the web that I've never seen before when I go looking. You'd think I would have found it all by now. Oh well - I'm not complaining.

My best guess is this is one more photo of #007 in the hands of an earlier owner prior to coming to the USA:

Click on the photo to see the high res image

Unfortunately, there were not anymore F1 pics where I found this shot, but there was one other photo of a Ferrari GTO with similar characteristics to the surroundings and lighting that was clearly taken at a Goodwood Festival of Speed, so that's my guess on the location of that shot as well.

Now having said that - I've had this other photo for an incredibly long time that I know came from Goodwood. I used to think it was #003 wearing it's 'K4 MCL' plate, but now I'm pretty certain that it is also a shot of #007 from back in the day. I don't recall which year of the Goodwood FOS this came from though.

Anyway - yet another piece to the puzzle I guess. Enjoy the pic!

The top photo is from the 2000 GWFOS. There was a second red GTR there too

They have a few mclarens there every year. I used to live in Chichester, which is about 5 minutes from Goodwood, so was lucky enough to attend a few of them. Not been for some years now though as i have moved away.

This is from last years

The red one in your first link looks like it could be Nick Mason's car.

I’m afraid I don’t know. The only documentation I have of it is those two photos. It is still listed on the T+C website, so maybe some one can find out.

Nice! The first is 007 in my mind. I wonder who the driver is. And the second most likely is as well. The number plate seems to have more writing on it than "K4 MCL". The car looks awesome there. It's funny how black really shows up as very deep but blue and green show up as black sometimes.

Yeah, he always brings a few cars to Goodwood FoS. After all, this is far from the most expensive car in his collection...

Hey lynx - any chance you attended the 1995 FOS? McLaren had a very impressive display with at least 3 F1 road cars and 2 F1 GTRs including #01R with it's recently won 24 Hrs of LeMans trophy. I'd love to see more photos of that day, but there are just a small number available on the web.

I’d love to say i was there.............. But unfortunately I wasn't. And even so back then I hadn't really developed my passion for this car. All I have is one extremely out of focus photo of the ueno clinic car from one of the following years. How foolish!

But your right, that would defiantly have been an impressive display!
