I have the same question. J Swingz, you state this is not the correct forum for this question???!!!! This is a TOYOTA TACOMA forum, is it not?!! Then where would it be appropriate, in your , MODERATOR, opinion?
And if you moved it, where did it go?
I think this forum needs moderators with a little less attitude!!!!!

Is this a dealer issue only?

I had to have the dealer help me with mine. I installed it in my 1998, pulled it out of a 2003, works very well, but the dealer had all the answers.

The dealer wanted to charge me for this. I did have to do it a few times to get it right. Thanks again.

yeah the dealer told me it could only be done by their computer, but i knew that was bull. they wanted to charge $30.00 to program one remote which would take them les than 5 mins to do. dealerships suck and rip off the consumer, which is why this forum is gr8. kudos to mauitaco

Hey, not saying they're all great, but the dealer is in the business of making money, and $30.00 for someone who doesn't know what they're doing, that's not too bad, but like you, I'm greatful for this site, but I'm also glad the dealer is there just in case I need them (also glad they decided to sell me my Taco)
