need help asap!car wont start
Well my car wont start.I took off the distributor cap and there's lots of carbon buildup.and i just bought that cap like a week ago. Also theres alot of carbon in the coil. But i took off the coil and had the guys at autozone check it out and they said it was fine.So what could be the problem? Also before this all this happend my car always had trouble starting up in the morning and my rpm needle would always jump from 1rpm to 1,200 rpm but the engine wouldnt idle different.Could it be the control module or could it be the kickstart coil.Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Re: need help asap!car wont start
Also in the distributor there is an ignition module. Its the thing that those wires are plugged into. Take it out and test it as the manual describes or see if Auto Zone can test it for you.
While I was driving one time, my car cut out and it would crank but not start, and that is what it turned out to be. I think that it was $80 |

I'm glad you checked for spark. You are 90% closer to the solution to your problem by performing one simple scientific test.
When this happened to me, I replaced the coil...a month later, it happened again. I had to have another distributor, which I got off of eBay for $59. When I got it, I put the new coil in it, and it fired right up. Good Luck Flunky PS-Might be a good idea to have an extra distributor... |
