Hi, I just went through a similar problem with my 89. Look in the forum under 89 suburban stalls at 40-50 mph. That was always about 10 minutes after leaving home on a cold engine heading down the highway. I changed tons of parts and drove my GM mechanic friend and mechanic brother nuts until we got to the real cause, a $15 pickup coil in the distributor. Hope yours is something that simple. Pete.
