Problems!

OK, so i was driving to go to work today, and halfway there on the interstate i was goin about 90 and all the sudden my car starts missin real bad, and it has been doin it since, it misses like crazy, it cant hardly hold an idle and it is backfiring quite a bit, but it is not smoking at all, I think it might be the distributer, cause i have already replaced the plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter. I just thought i would get some feed back from you guys before i start taking shit appart. Any help would be appreciated.

for some reason i dont think i am getting a spark on the 3rd cylinder now, i replaced the roter button, the distributer cap, then i had to replace the plug and the wire for the third cylinder. Do you think it might be the actuall distributer that is causing it not to spark????

like i said i went ahead and switchedout that plu and plug wire to see if that would work but it didnt, see i figured this cause while the car is running i was pulling the plug wires out one at a time, and on the third one when i pulled the engine still sounded the same, as with the other ones the engine bogged down whenever i pulled them so i know they are still workin right. I also replaced the roter button and distributer cap yesterday and that didnt seem to really help much, The only thing i can think of is that it is the distributer. if you have any other suggestions please tell me.

Re: Problems!

That is exactly what I went through with my DX motor, and it was the headgasket.

But I had a warantee on mine, so I got it fixed free then yanked the motor like a week later.
