Skyline Did It Again

For those of you who follows the JGTCC - real races for real cars!- the series for 2001 ended in Nov. GT 500 was won by erm.....who else but the NISMO GTR team while the GT 300 was won by TAISAN ADVAN team (Porsche).
Next year, the JGTCCwill see a new team...the HKS team with ...you wouldn't believe this....A Merc CLK 2 litre engine.
Can't wait for it to come to Malaysia again .....on 28th and 29th June 2002. For those of you interested in coming, post me a note. I can help book the tickets and even arrange accomodation.

I went to the JGTC website and I think you got confused with the manufactures rankings not the actual points ranking for the drivers which would determin the overal winner as far as car.

I had posted the final results in another part of AF. Here is the official results as far as individual teams and their drivers.

Car #38: the au CeRUMO SUPRA driven by Hironori Hironori Takeuchi & Yuji Tachikawa took first place with 58 points.

Car #8: ARTA NSX driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya & Katsutomo Kaneishi took second place with 56 points.

Car #1: LOCTITE MUGEN NSX driven by Ryo Michigami & Hidetoshi Mitsusada took thrid place with 56 points.

Car #23 PENNZOIL ZEXEL GT-R driven by Erik Comas & Masami Kageyama took forth place with 53 points.

Car #22 Xanavi HIROTO GT-R driven by Michael Krumm & Tetsuya Tanaka secured fifth place with 52 points.

With only 6 points seperating the top 5 teams Round Seven provided some great racing with the Supra prevailing. Bugger Supra's ! Maybe next year for us Skyline guys.

No...R33 was right...and so is RazorGST. R33 was talking about team, RazorGST is talking about individual.....they're ranked by both.

Yep, I was talking about the team winner. Hopefully, next year the GTR would win everything! Can't wait to see it here next June. But you know, after seeing the Supras flying around the circuit in the last race, that is going to be a monumental task for the GTRs team. What I am really hoping is for the Diablo and the McLaren LM to really spit some serious shit at the Japanese cars for once next year. Sometime it looks like these guys are there just to make up the numbers!

Well, didn't the McLaren win one round this year? And the HKS Merc will be in next year, too.

Yeah....but they almost always ended up being towed around!:o In the last race in Malaysia, the Diablo lasted all but ONE fuckin' lap!:o :o The McLaren was sputtering around like an old man with tuberclosis or something! And the Ferrari, dunno whether it was having a spring walk or what.... Good to see the HKS Merc - sure it will spank some asses!

Well they have expanded the JGTC to outside Japan for the first time next year. One round will be run in Malaysia for the first time as part of the series. Also they are broadcasting live coverage through out Euorpe for the first time. Hopefully soon we will get it down here in New Zealand soon because damn those cars are the bomb!

Actually the JGTCC has been to Malaysia twice but only as a special no-point stage. I have been to F1 and many other races but the JGTCC is really something else. You don't get to see fire spitting exhaust or hear engine popping or cars changing gears WHILE cornering in F1 but all these happen in JGTCC. You can also identify the cars - they are REAL cars - in JGTCC. Exciting. Only way to describe it.
