Are Body Kits Allowed In Auto X?
I was going to get a body kit, but I heard somewhere that they are not allowed in Solo II. If they are not, then what about Saleens.

I'm actually not sure about the rules on body kits. I know that Saleens run all the time but Saleen is a quasi manufacturer so maybe this is why they get away with it. BTW if it were me i would not get a body kit, most of them are too low and during some hard cornering (which is what autox is all about) its very likery you'll rip it. Plus most body kits will mess up the aerodinamics of the car

Re: Are Body Kits Allowed In Auto X?
for scca, they just bump your class. probably up to a modified class (which you don't want to be in unless your car is wicked fast...). they'll claim "it makes your car lighter! and gives it more downforce" or something to the sort.

Re: Are Body Kits Allowed In Auto X?
The one I'm looking at wouldn't be much lower than stock. Plus my car with the stock springs on it rides like a 4X4. The springs are hard so there is little body roll. But no its not fast enough to be in a modified class.

if you do something that the rulebook sais you have to be in a modded class they'll bump you there no matter what. they bumped me in STS just because i put in a conical air filter....bohoo it gave me a masive 1/2hp

Re: Are Body Kits Allowed In Auto X?
What sucks is that aftermarket springs are not allowed at all, where different shocks and struts are. I have to take off my Eibachs before the season starts. I have my stock wheels on now with the lowering springs so it looks very different. And do they really bump your class for an air filter, cause if so then I got to take that off too. If I left my car like it is now then I'll be in STX I believe.

i presume you mean in stock class. because basically everyone that runs in modified classes has at least coilovers.

Re: Are Body Kits Allowed In Auto X?
No even with just my springs I'm not in stock.
And I quote: "An item of standard or optional equipment that could have been ordered with the car, installed on the factory production line, and delivered through a dealer in the United States. Dealer-installed options or deletions, except as required by factory directives, no matter how common or what their origin, are not included in this definition. This definition does not allow the updating or backdating of parts. Stock, as defined herein, suspension springs must be used. They may not be cut, shortened or collapsed." So that sucks but I can deal with it.
