Steering problems

I own a 1999 Grand Am GT and lately I have noticed the steering wheel seem to feel like it's moving more freely, my car seems to be veering to the left..the steering wheel is jerking every now and again. I have talked to a couple of my friends and they say it may be ice. It has been 2 degrees here in Pittsburgh for several weeks. OR could it be out of alignment?

Thanks,
Gary

Re: Steering problems

I had the same problem too. I have a 94 grand am. My steering felt really loose and a veered to the right. I got my alignment done and it fixed the problem. Steering felt a lot tighter and it finally went straight.

Re: Re: Steering problems

Hi!

When I noticed this steerling problem, it was at night so I really didn't look in to it too much. The very next day I went out to my car and noticed my driver side front tire was low on air..The tire tech said that it was low enough to cause the problems. It seems to be ok now, but we'll see what happens in the next few days because I don't drive my car that much.
