1972 Pontiac T-37

Hello folks,

I've owned a 1972 Pontiac T-37\GTO clone for 6 years now. The T-37 was apparently a sporty lemans option. This is what it came back as when I looked up the vin.
When I got it the original 350 had been pulled and a rebuild 71 gto 455ho motor had been installed. It has a new hei and about 30k on the motor as a driver. It also had a complete external gto conversion done when I purchased it. Authentic hood, grills, rear valance, bumper. I cooked the 10 bolt and TH-350 tranny that came with it, and replaced it with a tci th-400, 2800 stall, and a 12 bolt with 3.73's in it. The body is solid, the floors are solid, and the trunk floor and rear fenders have been professionally replaced. I've reupholstered the seats, and replaced the headliner and carpeting. Everything works except for the A\C which I plan to fix at some point soon. I'm about to have a new paint job slapped on the thing, and was wondering what it would be worth if I sold it after that? I don't think I can bring myself to do it, but I'd like to know its approximate worth in this condition. I've put alot of money into the thing in the past few years and I'm wondering what I can recoupe if I sell. The car had been run deep into the 12's a few times by the previous owner on street tires and I've since added a few goodies to up the power. The trans\rear have about 150 miles on them. The exterior should be in "excellent" condition when finished at the body shop. The interior is in good condition, with a dash crack as the only real sign of age.

What is the ballpark value?

Yeah I'm not sure how much she is valued at but I'f she were put under classic status and not a clone youd be lookin easily at a 6 digit figure

Well it is a T-37 according to the vin, but it has essentially been converted to a gto. Are the T-37 pretty rare?

FYI, if it is a '72 it is not a T-37. The T-37 was a mid year introduction in 1970 and only continued through the 1971 model year. Before that it was the Tempest and after that it was the LeMans. It is a bottom of the line Pontiac A body.

The GT-37 was based on a T-37 2 dr post or ht for 1970 and ht only for 1971 with a V8. It consisted of special stripes, Ralley II wheels w/o trim ring and G70X14 rwl tires, HD 3 speed with Hurst Shifter, Dual exhaust exiting out the real valance panel with GTO type tips, GT-37 call out on front fenders and trunk and hood pins.

The T-37 was the entry level car with rubber floor mats, 6 cyl., 3 speed on column and that was about it. However in 1971 you could order ANY PONTIAC V8 in any 2 dr T-37.

There were about 43,000 T-37's in 1971. 8,000 + 2 dr sedans, 29,000 2 dr hardtops and the remainder were 4 dr sedans. No convertibles, buckets or station wagons.
