90' 300zx 2+2 N/A problems

I just bought a 1990 300 zx n/a which had a couple of problems.

first: The person that sold it to me told me that it had problems starting in the cold weather but it shouldnt be as hard as it is to start. I usually have to let it wind up for about 5-10 minutes. Once it is warm and you turn it off and then try to start it again. It starts right up like it should normally. What could be wrong with it?

second: I have no 3rd gear in my transmission but when i checked the transmission it doesnt smell like burning like normal bad transmissions. All responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I was wondering if you have had any problems with the wiring harness, and have any electrical shorts, because i have just purchased a 90' Z N/A 2+2 also, and the lady who sold it to me said these were the problems, I would appreciate any info.

Hey, I was just wandering if you ever figured out what the problem was for sure. I am beginning to think that it was in the wiring but i am not sure. I am begining to run out of ideas. Some guy on here told me that it could be the water temp. sensor so i might try replacing that and see where i am at.
Also, my starter went out so i replaced that and after i did it started right up like it should but the next morning i tried to start it and i havent been able to get it started for about a week now. Please if you have had any ideas or talked to anyone that had ideas please reply and tell me something. Thank You in advanced for all your replies.
