Question B series project need opinions/advice

Hey Everyone!
I posted this in the del Sol forum and though I would ask here too.

I'd like to build a B series engine for my '95 del Sol VTEC. What I want to do is make the fastest daily driver that's not so loud I hate to drive it. I want to be able to do long highway trips, run on 92 octane and want reliability. Here's what I thinking of so far:

Engine:
Dart B20+ block
Dart GSR head
Crower titanium connecting rods
Arias forged turbo pistons
Crower titanium valves
titanium valve spring retainers
AEM PEMS
adjustable cam gears
Moroso valve cover, oil pan
crank that let's me keep the oil squirters (anyone know which?)
VTEC cams(are VTEC roller cams available that keep the VTEC function?)
dual BB turbo (How big? Who makes one for Bs?) been pointed to a Full- Race turbo kit
Nitrous to spin up the turbo (wet? dry?)
what tranny and axels to go for?
professionally port and polished, balanced and blueprinted
ARP to bolt it all together

So what is the limiting factor for the amount of streetable HP I can put down? The clutch? Transmission? I would like to build with off the shelf parts and limit the custom fabing. Sorry for the long post.

So what are your opinions? What would you add/change? Thanks for your input!

Re: B series project need opinions/advice

Dart block and head---why?
Crower Titanium rod---um, no, they're made of 4340 billet steel
AEM EMS---Sure, know how to tune one?
Dual BB (ball bearing???) turbo---dual, are you kidding?
Professionel port and polish---why if you spent all that money on a Dart head/

Your list, well, eh whatever, research a little more before you you get into a project like this.

"research a little more before you you get into a project like this"

That's exactly what I'm doing. The dual thing was definitely wrong. (Thinking about something else)

Crower does make some pretty trick titanium rods see: http://www.crower.com/cat/import/honda/rods.shtml
Thanks!

Re: B series project need opinions/advice

All these people come in here talking about titanium everything. The only thing good in an engine to be titanium are the spring retainers. Titanium is outragously expensive and not reliably for daily driving. It galls and sticks to other metals too easily.

wtf is an aftermarket "VTEC cam"? A gsr head already has vtec, therefore already has "VTEC cams"... You can get aftermarket cams with higher lift/duration but won't be that great for daily driving.

Re: B series project need opinions/advice

Would the stock cams be the best choice for a turbo?
Privatebigandrew, with regards to titanium components galling, would that apply equally to the rods or more to the valves? Thanks guys!

$459 per rod. Allow 10 weeks for delivery.

Fuck that.

Heh, yah. Particularly if they gall and swap spit with the rest of the engine. I'm curious if there are any production vehicles that run titanium valves/rods..?

Theres a lamborghini that uses titanium rods, but its only comes on the higher powered with the higher powered engine (700hp v12?). Cant remember the model but i got a look at it when my friend was getting a ride in one from a family friend. The lighter titanium rods let it rev higher without it ripping itself apart. Seems it like it would be nice to have on a high revving B16 or S2000 motor.

nsx uses titanium rods.

bad choice is using arias pistons, use cp pistons.

ok well anyways if you want to run pump gas, and you build the block right, the limiting factor will be the pump gas. you can run pump gas reliable up to 400whp. but 400whp on teh street is too much, youll be spinning tire all over the place.
