Cool Finished: Suzuki Cappuccino

OK finally it's finished! You can see the progress thread here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=175258

It's an Aoshima kit. Overall, it's a fun little project... but as i pointed out eariler, the quality of the kit is not really good .. you'll need to spend quite a lot of time/effort to make it look just ok.

Just a few mods: sideskirts and extend the rear bumper a bit to match the "awful clip-on" front bumper. Lowered the suspension a bit and add quite a bit of camber to make it looks a bit more aggressive. I've added a FMIC, the reverse light is cut out from the original big clear plastic piece, a larger tip for the muffler and that's it. The TE37 wheels came with the kit from the pic it looks like black but it's not. I painted it with tamiya bronze (with black undercoat).

i could not find the light cover that i lost so i end up made one (actually 2) using clear plastic sheet.. far from perfect but still better than no cover..

anyway, here are the pics, hope you like it and comments always welcome

Great build! I know aoshima quality is not that high so to make this car look smooth is a real skill. Well done!

Looking great! Looks like one of those "special" cars you win in GT3. I can even picture it spinning around with that cheezy music in the background!

clem..

Thanks for the comments guys. Looks like there are a few pink lovers here

The cf decal came with the kit. It's a bit too "thin" and once i applied some decal softener, it became soooo soft and fragile that it's not funny! The cf pattern on it is quite nice thou. But overall i think the SAS cf decal is better and more forgiving. Anyway, i did airbrush a few layer of tamiya smoke onto it to give it a dark, semi transparent coating so it looks more like the real carbon fibre. And finally i airbrush a few layer of "future" and then polish it to give it a shinny finish. I should polish it a bit more but i don't want to damage the smoke coating (or even worse the cf decal!) and have to start all over again.

My next project will be an old school car. I want to go back to beginning and try to improve my basic skills so i'll be building it without any mods.

more comments (even bad one) are welcome
