99 Tahoe Brakes

I have a 99 Tahoe and after having two mechanics tellme the brakes are fine, I stiil feel I have a probelm. When you push down on the brake pedal it has excessive travel and you can't get a solid firm feel. I have been told that is just how they are ! Is this true ?

Re: 99 Tahoe Brakes

I fixed the problem by bleeding the brakes a number of times. 4 to be exact. Apparently the ABS system is difficult to get all the air out with only one bleeding. Good solid feel to the pedal now !
