2003 Elantra problems
My mom just bought a 2003 Hyundai Elantra new a couple weeks ago.
She drives into work this morning and smells gasoline. She gets out of the car and sees gasoline leaking out from under the car. The car has been towed to the dealer for the fix. No word on what happened yet. Anyone have anything happen like this? I don't know if it was a loose connection, bad hose, bad fuel pump or what. The car had been sitting at the dealership for quite awhile, since it was a 2003 model. She's only put 500-600 miles on it thus far. |

Re: 2003 Elantra problems
I have never heard of anyone having this problem. It sound like an anomoly. Actually you have probably found out what it was by know.
What was it? |

The clamp that holds the fuel hose to the gas tank broke and the hose came loose, dumping most of the fuel.
I think this was a freak occurence. My mom has put over 1000 miles on since this happened with no troubles at all. She bought this car in January 2004. The car was built in May of 2003 and had 14 miles on it. I'm thinking that with it just sitting at the dealer for so long didn't help things. Luckily it wasn't anything serious. |
