What is the OZ Rally?

ok.... Please don't verbaly beat me. I am a long time fan of the Evo VI however i must admit I am no car guy. I have seen many things about the OZ Rally Lancer. Please tell me what is the OZ? What does OZ stand for? and how does it differ from the other evo's? And any specs or info about how to make a Evo 6 kill things :-P. Body Kits Versions all VI info appriciated? Thank you all mighty Car Men you are a becon of light for people who love their cars to death but don't know how to make it fly.

OZ racing... they've made quite a lot of stuff for evos, and they make wheels. lot like ralliart but less specified.

however, the OZ edition is basically a stock lancer with a few interior spruce ups and an "OZ edition" badge.

not completely true. I just got my OZ and there are many other changes over a stock Lancer. I was going to get a Lancer ES and then decided to get the OZ because it was a better buy for what you got. Upgraded rims to alloy OZ 15" from 14" steelies, Yokohama tires, ground effects, rear spoiler, color keyed door handles, lower rear sway bar. The interior, there is Keyless entry,Cruise control, Evo 7 style gauges, Charcoal interior instead of that blue grey (ugh), nicer seats, upgraded CD player 140w, standard split rear seat, floor mats,leather wrapped steering wheel,shift knob and e-brake cover, variable intermittant wipers (not the 2 speed type), aluminum trim. (your mentioned spruce ups) All this is standard on the OZ and many things arent available as options on the base stock Lancer. Granted it does have the same drivetrain and suspension (except the rear sway on the OZ). Its not like Mitsu just put rims on it and a bigger price tag. There are many nice touches over all on the car. List on the OZ is 17,100 and i got mine as a left over for 13,425, or i could have bought an ES for $12,000 (14,100 list). Do the math and see what i got for 1,425 more...It is a great car, its not an EVO but the OZ package makes it look less like a commuter car (its my wifes car to commute in)over the ES or LS, and as you stated, the interior is MUCH nicer (color and standard ammenities).

so by adding ground effects, spoiler and interior changes makes it "Ungay"? I would have thought the comment, "ricer" would have come to mind. from grocery getter to ricer would be more appropriate except its all factory. ITS JUST A CAR, look at the people who get offended when you call their SRT4 a Neon...... ITS A NEON with a turbo. Just like the EVO is a Lancer thats AWD and FAST AS HELL, still a mitsubishi, still share alot with it as well and more then twice the sticker. Will it out handle and perform on a OZ Lancer, hell yeah, no competition there, but grocery getter? IMO,no its a nice inexpensive compact commuter car with some nice styling and an awesome warranty (over Honda,Toyota,Mazda), My wife wants the seats out of an EVO!!!!

thats the Evo and its AWD, slightly different then 4wd. The OZ is FWD

Actualy theres been another AWD version of the lancer produced since the first EVO. The GSR in japan is a differnt model, and used a 4g62 instead of the EVOs 4g63, as well as milder suspension tuning and only open diffs with out any AYC etc etc.
