running wires through firewall

I am a Fire Chief and need to run wires for my radio and siren to the battery. Is there a plug in the fire wall of the new 2004 ram 1500 quad cab that I can remove to run the wires through? I do not want to drill any holes through the fire wall if I do not have to. Can anybody help me?

Re: running wires through firewall

have you tried to run the wires through the rubber piece that the steering linkage runs through the fire wall or try the rubber piece that the shift cable goes through. thats where i ran my wires through when i connected my amps to the battery. if you need a picture i can take one for you just to give you an idea of where i ran my wires through.

Hi..I am also trying to run the wire to my battery, can you send a picture so I can see exactly what it looks like?...I have the stereo out and the panel off, but can't figure out where I would run the wires..I printed how to install AMP off the internet, so I am ready, but am on hold due to can't find the exact place and wouldn't want to drill a new one...
I also installed new speakers myself...so the AMP is all I need..
Thanks

Re: running wires through firewall

There is a rubber plug in the firewall. Look from under the hood below the brake fluid reservior. As I recall it's held in with 2 screws. Unless I had a large amount of wires to pull, I would make a small hole or slit in place and pull through.
