95 turn signal problem

I am having issues with the turn signals on my 95. Anyone else? They don't work all the time, and I often have to wiggle the switch to get them to work. Is this a replacement issue? It seems like a bad connection. I was wondering if I could pull the wheel, and clean the contacts? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Shawn

I have seen many problems with various GM cars like this one. It is almost always due to the turn signal switch. It is not worth it to try and clean the contacts. The switch is relatively cheap anyway (about $30-40). I have replaced several of them (including my 97 MC). It is not that difficult, but you will need a few special tools. You will need a steering wheel puller and a Lockplate remover (can probably be rented from an auto parts store). Also remember to disconnect the battery before working on it (due to the airbags). The most difficult part is removing the clip that holds the lockplate on. You will have to dig it out with a couple of picks or screwdrivers. Good luck.
